“I was in a very dark Lonely place, thinking suicide would free me from everything that had gone wrong in my life and unburden my family. My personal experience with Doctors was very unhelpful, they just wanted to prescribe medication which I thought only masked the problem and did not deal with the cause. I was desperate to speak to a counsellor but all I was offered was CBT, It all got too much and I attempted suicide - only my telephone ringing saved me. I knew of Jenni through my previous job and always felt very drawn to her calmness and aura of kindness, I contacted Jenni and with some persuasion Jenni agreed to see me once a week , or as needed. She turned my life around (in 6-8 sessions). She listened, she cared and she nurtured. She gave me coping mechanisms and she saved my life. If you feel lost... cant cope with your emotions, don’t know where to turn, Jenni is the person to see to guide you back to life. A lot of amazing things have happened in my life in the last 3 years. I’m so happy now thanks to Jenni x”

Jenni's comment: Sometimes life just brings you what you need. Donna asked me to help her with her health at a time when I was just beginning to think it might be time to resume my one to one holistic work and treatments. She was one of two people who were insistent that they wanted to see me and I decided to just say yes . (Reminding me of a dream in recent years in which I heard a voice telling me "Just say yes !" I took this to mean a yes to what life brings me.) There was an urgency of need so I simply set up my massage table in my sitting room and made the space light with candles and flowers. Donna did all the homework, she just needed the tools and with them she was empowered and the depression was weeded out making space for new growth. Most people do not recognize that we grow depression, and that we can learn to grow something so much more beautiful, namely gratitude and joy. Your GP does not know this either.

Tai chi was the only thing I found where my mind actually focussed and settled for a while. I was distracted and focused at the same time, on the slow flowing, mindful movements. There is never any pressure from Jenni to remember any of the sequences. You're in class to just be. Be with the moment and do what feels right/best for you.
Each class is different week on week and there is often sit down meditations included. I enjoy it when we go outside to practice, especially in the summer and ideally with bare feet on the grass. Jenni talks with such passion and sees life with positive eyes, noticing the smallest things to be grateful for, especially within nature. She is a medic by background which is perfect really to compliment her classes. Jenni's classes must be tried by all as they're so peaceful yet uplifting.”

Arthritis has set in and I have been troubled with sciatica and restless leg syndrome for many years. Nevertheless, I have remained active and relatively energetic despite putting on a little weight (nothing terrible, but I know it’s there!) and had considered my ability to do things like gardening and walking my dogs, largely due to the 400mgs of ibuprofen that I took every night which, I thought, allowed me to sleep and to function without too much pain.
Imagine my delight when having attended weekly classes with Jenni for less than two months, I was no longer dependent on any painkillers and felt healthier and fitter than I had for a long time! I am not particularly disciplined in following a strict regime at home but I found a few exercises that I could do quickly and easily absorb into my daily routine, much like cleaning teeth and brushing hair etc, and the benefits were obvious.
I can highly recommend Jenni; her passion for yoga and holistic healing is infectious and effective. If you’re hesitating – don’t! Don’t take my word for it; go along to some of her classes and see for yourself. I hope to see you there just as soon as my recent procedures* allow me to get there again. I can’t wait!
*PS; despite two operations on my arthritic foot and thumb. I am still not taking any medication other than paracetamol for localised pain relief!”

Read MoreTai Chi brings me back to myself, helping me heal the disconnect between body and mind that I had unconsciously nurtured. Jenni’s style of teaching is kind and inclusive and the breadth of her understanding has helped me embrace variety in my own personal practice, bringing my whole self to the centre of my life. I take great delight in having become both physically and mentally stronger. In particular, I have developed more resilience through improvement in my balance and flexibility. Overall, I feel happier and healthier for having begun this practice and for the continued sharing, learning and deepening of understanding to come. I used to mind taking small steps, but now I know the value of them.
